Today, which is pretty much my first day here, I met with my mentor so that we could go over what I would be doing for the rest of my time here, as well as what I would be doing today and what my day to day schedule would look like. After we had gotten most of that figured out, which may or may not change in the near future, I was told that I could help out a little bit at the gallery, but I didn't actually have to do that much. Mainly I just helped set up a few new art pieces and readjust the lights so that they worked out for showing off the pieces better.
Since it was my first day here, I didn't have all that much to do so I ended up with quite a bit of free time, which I had spent most of creating/working on my own art pieces and doodling, as well as aimlessly wandering around.
I thought it was pretty cool to see how a gallery is set up and how things are laid out. Also, something that I didn't know before was that the artists that are part of the gallery frequently come in and change out pieces of their art and set up all the lights to their liking, so that was kind of interesting to see.
